IIn the suburbs of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, a father was shot dead in broad daylight in front of his son. According to the media, they were on their way to the swimming pool on Wednesday evening. That's why the 39-year-old confronted a gang of youths before being shot in the head. “Crime that threatens the system”

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and opposition leader Magdalena Andersson visited the crime scene in the suburb of Skärholmen, south of the capital, on Thursday evening. The area has seen several gun attacks in recent months due to gang violence.

“The systemic crime our country is currently experiencing has cruel consequences for our entire free and open society,” Kristersson wrote on Instagram. “Gangs won't stop their ruthlessness until we stop them.”

For years, Sweden has struggled with a massive increase in gang crime. The gangs wage bloody battles for control of the drug and arms trade, and repeated acts of revenge.

Young people are often recruited into acts of violence because they cannot be prosecuted. Some criminals are only twelve years old. According to police statistics, 363 gun attacks were reported last year, in which 53 people died. There were also 149 bombings.
