TThomas Kingston, the son-in-law of Prince Michael of Kent, who was found dead in his parents' home last weekend, apparently took his own life.

A Gloucestershire coroner's inquest heard on Friday that Kingston died of a gunshot wound to the head; A pistol was found next to the body. The 45-year-old financial investor married Gabriella Windsor, daughter of the Kents, in 2019, with Queen Elizabeth II attending the wedding.

After his death was announced, King Charles III expressed his condolences. and Queen Camilla and sent their “heartfelt thoughts and prayers” to the family. The coroner said Kingston spent last Sunday with his parents in the Cotswolds. The parents searched for their son, who had barricaded himself in an outbuilding on the property. The father reached and found the dead man.

Last weekend, police said there were “no suspicious circumstances” regarding the cause of death.
