Off the road and into nature: trail running is new territory for many runners. Deviating from old ways has some advantages, if you follow the most important tips and tricks.
dSpring is coming. Heat and light draw us outdoors. Now is the best time to get outdoors and start trail running. Trail running is an English term and describes running on paved roads and paths. It doesn't matter if it's a forest road, a nature trail or a meadow: rugged terrain makes us walk differently.
When you run on trails, your feet land differently with each step: sometimes higher, sometimes lower, further left, or further right. This affects the entire body. On uneven terrain we use more muscles to maintain balance than when we run on the road. We exchange the monotony of the fixed path for the variety of the trail.
