Donald Trump could go to prison. Most people would be terrified of this, even if they ended up in a fancy white-collar prison, as a former president certainly would. The reports are that the big one is too, which almost makes him seem human. (Almost.) But in public, Trump has always tried to appear stronger than he is, even getting angry when Fox News uses photos that show him looking like shit. So of course, when a reporter asked him about his potential prison sentence, he tried to play it cool.

Trump sat down for a rare interview with the mainstream press, speaking with Meet the Press’ Kristen Welker for a story that aired Sunday. When asked if he feared being thrown in prison, he gave an unconvincing answer.
“I don’t even think about it,” Trump said. “I’m built a little differently, I guess, because people have come up to me and asked, ‘How do you do it, sir?’ How do you do?’ I do not even think about it.
Trump then turned his attention to the “corrupt” law enforcement agencies he “deals with,” who he said are “destroying our country” with their “third world indictments.” He also again claimed that President Joe Biden ordered Attorney General Merrick Garland to prosecute him because of his strong polling, prompting Welker to point out “there’s just no evidence of that.” .
He also criticized Biden for allegedly lying about his golf handicap. “He says he has a six, but not a six,” Trump accused.
Later in the interview (during which he once again praised about how he “passed” a basic cognitive test three years ago), he returned to the idea of losing sleep over his ambiguous future.
“When you say: am I losing sleep? I’m sleeping,” Trump said. “I’m sleeping. Because I really feel that in the end we are going to win.
Last month, Page Six spoke with an insider who claimed the indictments “show signs that this is weighing on him” and that they have “brought about a change” in him. They added: “He’s not as confident anymore. He doesn’t act so arrogant anymore. He doesn’t blame himself that much. The arrogance is gone.
Still, Trump’s base is notorious for buying everything he tells them, so they’ll happily swallow the line that he doesn’t care about prison. Hell, they’d probably believe his claim that Biden is leading us to “World War II”. But everyone else…
