HYDERABAD: A retired Professor of Linguistics from Osmania University (OU) and Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University (PSTU), Professor B Ramakrishna Reddy will receive the prestigious Padma Shri Award for his contribution to literature and education.

The 80-year-old professor will receive this honor for his immense contribution to the preservation of tribal and southern languages ​​such as Kouvi, Manda and Kui.

He was largely successful in building a cultural bridge linking tribal languages ​​with other languages.

Professor B Ramakrishna Reddy has also authored Manda-English and Oriya-English dictionaries, while co-authoring 5 books for his cause.

He is also the founding registrar of the Dravidian University of Kuppam.
