Drone footage and videos show how dozens of people died around an aid convoy in the Gaza Strip. It has not yet been clear who is responsible for the disaster.

AEven the day after the dramatic scenes in the north of the Gaza Strip, in which more than a hundred people are said to have died early on Thursday morning, the exact course of the drama remained unclear. “We don’t know exactly what happened,” said UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ spokesman on Friday night in New York. “But whether these people were killed by Israeli gunfire, whether they were crushed by the crowd or knocked over by trucks, these are acts of violence that are in some way linked to this conflict.”

The UN Security Council met at night for an emergency meeting at Algeria's request. But a common position failed because of the American veto: “We don’t have all the facts yet – that’s the problem,” said American deputy UN ambassador Robert Wood.
