HNowadays, right-wing extremism is having a broad impact on society. The green-black state government in Baden-Württemberg wants to do something about this and has therefore founded a new institute at the University of Tübingen to research right-wing extremism and to develop prevention strategies.

The proposal to found the institute comes from the final report of the investigative committee to investigate the crimes of the right-wing terrorist organization NSU. “We want to systematically look at how the ideologies of right-wing extremists and the extreme right affect everyday life,” said Rolf Frankenberger, political scientist and founding director of the new institute, when presenting the research projects.
