Ariana Madix is ​​opening up about her new relationship. On April 17, the reality star — who split from her long-term boyfriend Tom Sandoval in March amid a cheating scandal, he was seen kissing fitness trainer Daniel Wai at LAX as he left him to catch a flight, according to photos released by the daily mail. The airport PDA came after Madix and Wai were seen sticking hip in coachella that weekend, even posing for photos together.

Now Madix is ​​reflecting on how their whole romance started. In a May 24 interview with the “Call His Daddy” podcast, Madix said of their relationship, “I’m really having a lot of fun. I’m seeing someone.” He didn’t mention Wai by name, but said, “They live across the country in New York, so he obviously has all that aspect, but I would say he’s very, very good.”

Madix shared that they met at a wedding “10 or 11 days” after the Scandoval news broke. “I met him at this wedding and all we did was talk. Like we stayed up all night just talking… It’s literally all I wanted,” he said. The reality star added that she had clear limits with Wai because of the situation she was getting out of, and he respected them at every step.

When the couple flew home to separate coasts after the wedding, they kept talking. Madix shared: “The conversations we had were amazing.” Since then, she has been in New York frequently for work, which allows her to see him in person as well.

As for critics who think she’s jumping into a new adventure too soon after her breakup, Madix said: “Accepting happiness and good things while you heal, there’s nothing wrong with that.”
