IStefan Raab last appeared in front of the camera in December 2015, and since then the entertainer has lived in seclusion. But many fans are still hoping for a comeback from the “TV Total” host. It was only in 2018 that he performed his old program in front of an audience at Cologne's Lanxess Arena.
On Good Friday, Raab returned with a video on Instagram – or so it seems. The video shows Raab's “show intern” Elton rowing across the lake while making a phone call to the 57-year-old. Finally, he finds Raab sitting on the lake shore fishing. “You're just skin and bones,” Elton tells Raab, “everyone's looking for you. You've been gone for almost ten years now, time to do something again!”
Raab weighs it down. The music, the great show, the chancellor's duel – he's already done it all. The entertainer claims that he would only like to become one: “An influencer!” And she wants to be high: She wants to have as many followers as Pamela Reif, Raab explains. The German fitness influencer is followed by 9.2 million people. “Look out, Elton, if I've got nine million, no, I promise you I'll do something again,” says Raab. “For me, there are also fitness videos.”
Raab gives his former “show intern”, whose face cannot be seen in the video, three days – until Easter. A biblical clue? Or is it more of an April Fool's joke? Finally, Easter Monday falls on April 1st this year.
In any case, Elton is there, “Okay, I'll take care of it,” he says, and rows off again. And apparently he can count on Raab's fans: The video went viral, and Raab's Instagram account quickly amassed hundreds of thousands of followers on Friday.
There was still plenty of room for improvement at the start, though: by afternoon, around 580,000 accounts were following “therealstefanraab”. In case he doesn't reach his goal, Pamela Reif already offered him a joint workout on his channel in his Instagram story.
