YouTube star Hank Green has Hodgkin’s lymphoma, he says in a new video – Deadline

In a startling video posted Friday, the veteran Youtube personality green skein told his three million subscribers that he has Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Green has been around since the early days of YouTube, active since 2007. He also hosts podcasts with his brother John Green, author of “The Fault in Our Stars”.

“So there have been a lot of times in the last few weeks where this has become more and more real. This is the big one,” Green said above.

“I noticed that my lymph nodes were large. I talked to my doctor. She said: ‘It’s probably nothing. We’ll send you for an ultrasound. I had an ultrasound and the technician in the ultrasound room said, ‘I’m going to find a doctor.’ That is not what you want to have happened,” she continued.

A biopsy delivered bad news.

“When you’re in the American health care system, you don’t expect things to move fast,” he added. That’s not what he does. That’s not what it looks like. When it starts to get a little efficient, it’s actually quite disconcerting.”

Green will soon start chemotherapy and said he was grateful for his support system.

“All the time I’ve spent investing in friendships, and even when it’s been hard trying to keep them strong, and even when I’ve been busy trying to spend time with them, it’s been joyous in the moment. and wise in the long run,” she said. “I have really needed friends in the last few weeks, and I have been very grateful to have them.”

Green also assured his fans that he maintains a positive outlook and will “fit the ear” regarding his upcoming projects.
