A manufacturer has launched a cheese recall due to possible Listeria contamination. Some supermarkets in northern Germany are affected.
A recall affects cheese lovers: in the “Kober Sea Salt Cheese | Listeria (Listeria monocytogenes) was found in Sylt sea salt. Affineur Culinaire GmbH has initiated a discontinuation of sales of the affected product, which was delivered between March 7 and 21, 2024. The warning is issued via the Produktwarning.eu portal.
The cheese affected by the recall has a best before date of April 6-17, 2024 and lot number 244331/06. The sale took place in the Citti stores in Kiel, Flensburg and Lübeck, as well as in the Famila stores in the northeast region. Customers should not consume the cheese and can change it.
Listeria Health Hazard: Exchange Strongly Recommended
Listeria can cause serious gastrointestinal illness even weeks after consumption, with particular risk to older people, pregnant women, and young children. Consumers who have already purchased the cheese are urged not to consume it and return it.
