For Bayern, Nagelsmann's extension represents another setback in the search for a new coach. This is a bitter setback, especially for Max Eberl. The sporting director has reportedly pushed internally for Nagelsmann to return.

The problem: not all Bayern leaders were convinced of this idea. According to rumors, the resistance of the Munich supervisory board was the decisive factor in Nagelsmann opting for the DFB and decided against Bayern.

Tuchel: “The agreement with the club remains…”

After reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League and good performances against Arsenal, the voices grew louder that Thomas Tuchel should stay at the club. FC Bayern demand. The 50-year-old coach himself rules out this scenario: “I have an agreement with the club and it is maintained,” Tuchel stressed about the PK before the league duel against Union Berlin, when asked about Nagelsmann's rejection of Bayern.

Tuchel was not surprised by Nagelsmann's extension: “I expected it when Rudi Völler extended. I have the feeling that Völler and Nagelsmann make a very good team. “I think the decision is good for the team because now there is clarity and peace of mind before the tournament.”
