Helene Fischer, Maite Kelly or Schmitty Extreme? “Let's Dance” features celebrity-professional duos competing in next week's Discofox Marathon. The TV audience can now vote on the songs.

Helene Fischer, Maite Kelly or Schmitty Extreme? In a particularly emotional partner exchange edition of the dance show “Let's Dance” (April 12, RTL, also on RTL+), the return of the Discofox marathon was announced as the next live show (April 19 at 8:15 p.m.). ). Viewers can now vote on the songs to which the competition will be danced.

The 16 entries in the selection were also posted on the dance show's Instagram account. The show's creators write: “It's that time again: the Discofoxmarathon is back on episode 7! We tell you one thing: this marathon definitely has no brakes. Vote now on RTL.de which songs you want to hear.”

Featured are Helene Fischer and Shirin David with “Breathless through the Night” or “It Just Happened” by Maite Kelly. The list also includes a number of Ballermann hits such as Schmitty Extreme's “Victoria”, DJ Robin & Schütze's “Layla” or Ikke Hipgold, Schürze and DJ Robin's “Bumsbar”.

Discofox's marathon announcement was hotly debated

The announcement and the selection are hotly debated in the comments. Many are looking forward to the competition, where celebrity and professional couples are gradually removed from the game by the judges or taken off the dance floor. “I'm personally very happy about it,” writes one user.

“I like Discofoxmarathon,” commented another, but also added: “Unfortunately, the song selection is too baller once again. Discofox can be danced to almost anything, and I think it's a shame that it's being portrayed as if it's a 'yota dance'. “Could it be that there is almost only Ballermann's music? How about real Discofox songs?!” another follower asks in surprise. “I can't stand the shooting noise,” complains another user. “Song selection is bottom drawer!”

And this fan doesn't like the music selection either: “I'd like to choose a song, but I can only choose between plague and cholera.” You might also read: “Sorry, not suitable for an elaborate show”, “This is a slap in the face to any Discofox dancer”, or “Too bad, I liked Salsathon a lot more last year”.

But as one of the participants of the last show emphasized: “Let's Dance” is a dazzling entertainment show, not a serious professional dance competition…
