Long-term contract for Nübel?
A logical candidate for this could be Alexander Nübel. The goalkeeper is currently on loan at VfB Stuttgart and is on his way to the Champions League. According to the information, sporting director Christoph Freund and sporting director Max Eberl are in contact with him.
The employers still believe that Nübel could be Neuer's successor. Bayern wants to offer Nübel, whose current contract, like Neuer's, runs until 2025, a new four or five-year contract and then loan him to Stuttgart for at least one more year so he can play in the Champions League and develop further.
But there are also others interested in Nübel: Newcastle United and AS Roma recently inquired about the goalkeeper.
Bayern also has Costa and Maignan in their sights
According to Sport BILD, Bayern are also looking for goalkeepers abroad. Diogo Costa of FC Porto and Mike Maignan of AC Milan top the list, according to the report. Therefore, both things would be a “declaration obligation” for Bayern. Costa and Maignan have demonstrated their qualities at the highest level, but both would also be very expensive.
Another name on the list is Brighton, according to the report Dutch Goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. That is why Bayern are closely monitoring the 21-year-old, who recently defended Elftal in the 1-2 defeat against Germany.
Meanwhile, Bayern officials are satisfied with the development and training of Daniel Peretz, currently third goalkeeper. However, he is expected to leave the club on loan in the summer to be able to practice matches at the highest level. The Israeli national team goalkeeper could also be recommended as a possible new successor in the future.
