The Danish pump manufacturer Grundfos plans to give up its headquarters in Wahlstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, in the long term. Production will be gradually consolidated over the next three years, the company said.

The places chosen for this were Denmark, Hungary and Serbia. The objective is to guarantee the long-term competitiveness of products and solutions. Grundfos produces, among other things, heat pumps.

Around 530 jobs affected: Heat pump manufacturer resigns from its headquarters in Germany

“We are aware that the plan represents a significant cut for our colleagues, for the city of Wahlstedt and for the entire region,” said Bent Jensen, member of the board of directors. “At the same time, we believe this plan is critical to the long-term future of our company.”

With the closure of the Schleswig-Holstein headquarters, around 530 jobs will be lost. Grundfos stated that socially acceptable solutions for employees should be found together with the works council. The media had already reported this previously.
