“We're going to the crime scene now,” Ute leads the “Perfect Dinner” crew into their dining room. A former hotel employee, he runs a guest house in Schwerin, so others think he has a lot of fine dining experience. But Ute waves: “I worked in five-star hotels, but I got more canteen food there.”

The native Bavarian suspects the difficulty: “My menu has a lot of à la minute.” However, he doesn't let himself get stressed: “I'll probably make it.” How he came up with the motto “served”. hot and cold”? “Hot-cold, because I always have hot and cold in every course.”

There is:

• Appetizer: Smoked salmon on hash browns with sour cream and dill
• Main course: Roast beef with potato-polenta puree / red baked potatoes / herb sauce / parsley salad
• Dessert: Chocolate dream with yogurt ice cream and fruit

As it is snowing outside, Ute welcomes its guests with a glass of glögg to warm them up. Next: Roast with salmon and sour cream. “It was an explosion of flavors,” says Kristoph, 36, of how the fresh ingredients work together. Sandra (29) thinks: “It was a simple dish, but he handled the individual components very well.”

The perfect dinner: at half past ten, Ute believes his guests are relaxed but impatient

“For the main course, the biggest challenge is the roast beef, which is really done and still pink on the inside,” Ute hopes for success. Unfortunately, the meat takes quite a long time to cook. “I expected it to take two and a half hours,” Ute remains calm and puts the meat roast in the oven for another half hour.

When guests stop by the kitchen, they will be amazed. “The raw potatoes were still on the stove,” Diana (46) wonders how quickly Ute wants to prepare them. “It will be interesting to see how long it lasts.” – “There wasn't much rustling at all,” Sandra said, imagining that there was more work in the kitchen. “It's a little before ten thirty. “It's late,” Sandra and Diana look at the clock.

Even at 10pm there is no sign of the main course. Yet Ute doesn't let himself get stressed, “because the guests are so relaxed.” At least he thinks so. At a baking temperature of 53 degrees, he gives up waiting: “Actually, you should.” He tastes the beef and is disappointed: “Unfortunately, it's not cooked enough.” So back to the oven.

Perfect Dinner: Hostess Ute needs a strong firefighter

“The timing was very bad,” Diana complains about the waiting time, because it was only shortly before 11 p.m. that the guests finally got something to eat. “It was a difficult birth,” apologizes Ute. “The timing with the roast beef was wrong,” he complains about his performance. “I'm a little disappointed in myself.” At least it tastes good.

Then you can't get out of the chocolate cake mold: “I think I have bankruptcies, bad luck and accidents today.” Ute calls the fire chief Kristophile for support: “Only a strong firefighter can help me.” Free combined together forces them to make a cake. Meanwhile, the others at the table are having fun: “Ute called the fire department!”

Shortly after midnight, dessert is on the table. The biggest compliment goes to Kristoph, who served the brownie the night before: “He had a tastier chocolate cake than mine.” Despite huge problems with timing, Ute scores 34 points and takes the lead alongside Kristoph.
