According to the Albanian Constitutional Court's decision, Italy's migrant centers can probably be built there as planned. The opposition in Rome criticizes that the agreement with Tirana only has propaganda value.

After the approval of the Constitutional Court in Tirana on Monday evening, the Albanian-Italian migration agreement still faces two final obstacles: the Albanian parliament, which only consists of one chamber, and the Senate in Rome have to accept the agreement of the heads of government Giorgia Meloni and Edi Rama from the beginning of November still ratify.

The larger chamber of the Italian Parliament had already approved the agreement on January 24th, with 155 votes to 115 and two abstentions. The approval of the Senate, where Meloni's center-right coalition also has a clear majority, is considered certain. The socialist government of Prime Minister Edi Rama can also rely on a secure majority of 75 of the 140 votes in parliament in Tirana. Dates for the outstanding votes in Tirana and Rome have not yet been announced.
