More than 700,000 vacant positions
“Unemployment and underemployment decreased in March, but less than usual this month. The economic crisis continues to have repercussions on the labor market. In general, however, it remains relatively good,” commented the director general of the federal agency, Andrea Nahles, about the figures collected until March 13.
In March, 707,000 vacancies were reported to the Federal Agency, 70,000 fewer than a year ago. Regarding reduced working hours, companies reported reduced working hours for 48,000 people during the period between March 1 and 24, 10,000 fewer than in the same period the previous month.
Regarding the current situation of the labor market, the Federal Agency announced that between October and March, 317,000 applicants for training positions had registered with employment agencies and employment centers. In March, 190,000 of them had not yet found a training position or an alternative. However, it was said that the training market is still in flux.
