Uli Hoeneß indicated in an interview with FAZ that they were willing to spend 100 million euros on a German player. Insiders assume he is referring to Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz.
As Uli Hoeneß explained in an interview with FAZ, for him a well-positioned young workforce is the only way to regain the status of leader in the sector in Germany and participate in the European concert of the big players. For this mission, among other things, Christoph Freund was hired last summer as sporting director: “he generated a transfer surplus of more than 600 million euros for Red Bull Salzburg, which is the focus for Bayern. Friend knows all the good young players.”

According to Hoeneß, Bayern could “spend 100 million euros once on a Harry Kane, maybe again on a German player, but not four or five times,” said the 72-year-old coach. This will do it FCB-Honorary President was probably referring to Florian Wirtz.
Munich's interest in the Leverkusen supertalent is no longer a secret.
Wirtz is available for 150 million euros
Leverkusen boss Fernando Carro recently revealed the amount at which Bayer would be willing to negotiate with Wirtz: “We would never let Wirtz leave for less than 150 million,” he said in the Spanish Brand safe.
However, Carro categorically rules out a change next summer: “We have a very good relationship with his parents. Your idea is to keep him with us. In football you can't plan much beyond a year, but next season he will play in Leverkusen.”
It could even be an advantage for Bayern not to be able to lose Wirtz this summer to a competitor. Instead, they could strike in the summer of 2025 and then appoint a direct successor to Thomas Müller. According to reports, he will be inclined to hang up his football boots when his contract expires after the 2024/25 season.
