FC Bayern's Leroy Sané has been playing with pain for weeks, including in the home victory against Arsenal FC. Now the Munich team wants to use an extraordinary measure so that the German international is ready for the Champions League semi-finals against Real Madrid.

Bayern star Leroy Sané continues to suffer from persistent inflammation of the pubic bone. The 28-year-old also played through severe pain in the 1-0 quarter-final second leg victory against Arsenal FC.

According to Bild, an internal decision was made at Bayern to save Sané completely. The offensive player must be removed from training and matches.

According to the report, after the game against Arsenal, Sané was examined again and completed the tests. Therefore, he must pay more attention to his health, otherwise he would risk suffering an even worse injury.

Sané will probably be absent against Union and Frankfurt

According to “Bild”, Sané will not be present in the upcoming Bundesliga matches against Union Berlin on Saturday and against Eintracht Frankfurt next week. The goal is for Sané to recover in time for the Champions League. The first leg of the semi-final against Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena will take place on April 30. Second leg at the Bernabéu Stadium on May 8. Sané also has to keep an eye on the European Championship, which he could risk if the stress is too great.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund reported immediately after the game against Arsenal how much Sané was suffering: “Leroy gritted his teeth and did a great job,” said the Austrian: “He hasn't been able to train for a few weeks. “This is absolutely borderline.”

Currently, Bayern depends on Sané in attack: two wingers, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman, are already out. For the Frenchman, the season is probably over after his muscle injury. Gnabry, on the other hand, could be available again against Real Madrid after his muscle fiber tear. Coach Thomas Tuchel currently has Mathys Tel, Thomas Müller and Bryan Zaragoza in the squad as alternatives.
