From the gym to the dance floor: Sophia Thiel, Germany's most successful fitness influencer, faces a real challenge in this year's “Let's Dance” season. Because being in control and letting go isn't usually her thing—not even in love.
Sophia Thiel talks about vulnerability before the start of Let's Dance.
Muscular, confident and strong – that's how we know social media influencer Sophia Thiel. To survive in the world of bodybuilders and fitness gurus, the 28-year-old had to develop a thick skin, which may now be her downfall. “I often feel that I quickly take the lead and control many things,” Sophia explains on “Bild am Sonntag”. Just letting go is her show's “biggest challenge.”
Sophia Thiel: “It's not always easy with men and me”
When it comes to love and relationships, the fitness influencer often feels the same way. He tends to take the lead, which he doesn't really want to do. “It's not always so easy with men and me,” Sophia admits in the “BamS” interview. She explains: “Until now, I've felt that men can be a little afraid of me and therefore act more defensive – whether it's because of the strength training or my open, direct nature.”
Because of his muscular body, his dance partner on “Let's Dance” should be a “big, stable cannon of fun” if possible. After all, he must be able to withstand the weight of complex lifting figures. But when all else fails, Sophia Thiel has a plan B ready. “Then I simply take over the male part and lift my partner up. I should lift about 70 kilos with just one lift,” says the influencer.
